Privacy policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
NewsPulse is a news aggregator that links to original publishers and publishes its own guides. This policy explains what data we process, why, who we share it with and what choices you have. The site is run by NewsPulse; you can reach us through the contact form.
What we store
- Account (optional): your name, e-mail address and a hashed password (never stored in plain text).
- Preferences: the categories you follow, your news country, language and audio briefing topics. Without an account these are kept in cookies in your browser.
- Comments: the text you post and when. Comments are public, shown with your name.
- Reading history: only the category of the articles you click (not the URL), used to improve magazine recommendations. We use the last 60 days.
- Contact messages: your name, e-mail, topic, message, date and a hashed identifier of your IP address to prevent spam. Used only to reply to you and deleted after 12 months at the latest.
- Technical data: to limit abuse we keep an irreversible hash of your IP address for up to two days. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs.
Legal bases: providing the service you ask for (account, preferences, comments), our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and, for personalised advertising where the law requires it, your consent.
Advertising: Google AdSense
NewsPulse shows ads through Google AdSense, a service of Google LLC and its affiliates (in the EEA and Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited).
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to NewsPulse and/or other sites on the Internet. These ads may be personalised (based on your interests) or non-personalised (based on context, such as the page you are reading and your general location).
- Google also uses cookies and similar identifiers to measure ads, cap how often you see them and prevent fraud.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, at www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will see a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) that supports the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF). There you can accept, reject or choose specific purposes and vendors. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. If you do not consent, Google may show non-personalised or limited ads.
Some US states grant additional privacy rights; where Google shows a privacy message for those states, you will see it on this site.
Cookies and local storage
We use necessary cookies (session and sign-in), preference cookies (language, country and briefing topics) and, when advertising is on, Google AdSense cookies. Details are in our cookie policy.
Third-party content and services
- Publishers: headlines come from each publisher's public RSS feed. Images load from their servers, and opening a story takes you to the publisher's site, which has its own privacy policy.
- Audio briefing: played with your browser's voices. Some browsers process the text with their online speech services. If the site administrator turns on Google Cloud Text-to-Speech voices, the briefing text (headlines and excerpts, no personal data) is sent to Google to generate the audio.
- Notifications: only appear if you turn them on, and only while the site is open.
Retention
Account data is kept for as long as you keep your account. Deleting it removes your preferences, comments and history. Contact messages are deleted after 12 months at the latest.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. You can change your preferences or delete your account at any time from "Account". For anything else, use the contact form. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
NewsPulse is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, say so on the site.
